Who We Are:

Grace Christian Fellowship is a vibrant and growing New Testament church located in Crossett, Arkansas. We align theologically with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, though a more specific look into what we believe can be found in our statement of faith on our website, gracecrossett.com. We consider ourselves to be casual when it comes to outward appearances or following Bible-belt traditions, but intentional in regards to people and following God’s Word. We seek to glorify Him with our lives, relationships, and engagement in the Great Commission - not merely through our words, dress, or social status. We strive to imitate the early church of Acts by living connected lives of loving fellowship – marked by authenticity, sharpening one another as we grow, and witnessing the Lord add to our number those who are being saved.

As modeled in the New Testament, we are a church that is Jesus-led, elder-shepherded, deacon-served, and gospel-united. We are devoted to God’s holy and infallible Word, primarily through expository preaching, and through teaching in both large and small group settings. We desire to continue to grow in the area of disciple-making - to consistently build strong relationships in the body, and to intentionally equip each member for personal spiritual growth and for a lifestyle of evangelistic multiplication. Our congregation is demographically and generationally diverse, yet we are united in our eagerness to serve and in seeking continual growth both spiritually and numerically.

Our Sunday schedule begins with Sunday School, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by our corporate worship service at 10:45 AM. Our average attendance during Sunday worship has grown from around 90 to 150 these last two years, (not including children). Instead of traditional Sunday evening services, we reserve that time for families to build relationships by gathering for dinners and fellowship, and so that our adults may have the opportunity to be engaged with our youth, Lighthouse Student Ministries, in their Sunday evening activities and youth worship service.

Wednesday nights are reserved for R.E.A.C.H. Groups during the academic school year. These are organized in-home Bible studies where adults and youth share a meal, pray together, and discuss God’s Word. “R.E.A.C.H” is the acronym that defines our heartbeat at GRACE - “Relationships Established Around Christ’s Heart.” Our body strives to “R.E.A.C.H. Up, R.E.A.C.H. In, and R.E.A.C.H. Out.” While our adults and youth are engaged in R.E.A.C.H. groups in member homes, around 30 – 40 of our younger kids gather at the church building to learn and memorize God’s Word, and to enjoy eating and playing together in “GRACE Adventure Club.” On Wednesday nights during the summer months, we all meet at the church building for corporate worship and Bible study.

A healthy body is an active body, so we have ministry teams that give opportunities for our members to serve each other and those around them. Serving alongside fellow believers helps us grow in our love for Christ and for each other. For more information about Grace Christian Fellowship, our beliefs, services, or ministries please visit our website at gracecrossett.com.

We are affiliated with the SBC and enjoy good standing and active fellowship with the local association of Baptist churches.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a full-time Senior Pastor, experienced in ministry, whose calling is not only claimed, but attested by God, who will serve as the “lead under-shepherd” among our flock. He will do this by:

· Meeting the qualifications of an Overseer as outlined in 1 Timothy 3

· Aligning theologically with our Statement of Faith

· Exhibiting proper knowledge of the whole Bible and preaching God’s Word by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit

· Majoring on preaching God’s Word with an expository, verse-by-verse, book-by-book approach, and minoring on topical messages

· Actively engaging in personal evangelism and relational disciple-making

· Being a compassionate and willing counsellor who operates in confidentiality

· Being approachable and authentic

· Always seeking to grow in devotion to prayer and dependence on Christ

· Having long-term vision and the ability to work together to develop a plan to execute the vision

· Serving as a mentor to other church staff and members of leadership

· Being joined by his wife who is active in service and participates in ministry

· Agreeing with the Biblical model of the “Plurality of Elders” for governing the church as seen in Acts 14:23, 1 Peter 5:1-2, and Titus 1:5

At Grace Christian Fellowship, our elders, our deacons, and our members understand that the calling and life of a Pastor is the weightiest of callings and carries with it eternal consequences. Over many years, we have learned to be deeply thankful for the Biblical instruction that guides us to minister as a “plurality of elders/pastors/under-shepherds” of the body. This Biblical model does not exist in any way to “govern over” or “oversee” the senior pastor, but rather to provide shared accountability, to seek the Lord’s wisdom and direction together, to complement one another in each man’s specific giftings, and to bear burdens together – all with a humble heart to support the well-being of the body, the senior pastor, and his family.
