About this job
Job Description
Highlights of employment with Ashland Pet Concierge
- All visits are done from the clients home in Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton or Southborough.
- As the pets are the priority, you must attend the visits alone to give your undivided attention to our clients.
- Client confidentiality is a key to our success.
- I trust my employees to be able to manage appointments, to ask for guidance when needed and to communicate well.
- All pet sitting/dog walking visits are scheduled and tracked using Time to Pet software.
- Clients love to hear about your time with their pets and a descriptive note and a photo will be left in Time to Pet after each visit.
- Of course, you need a car, insurance, smart phone, to check email on a regular basis and to be comfortable driving and walking in the rain and snow.
- Visit times are typically 30 minutes. I trust my employees to always honor the time commitment of each visit.
- Pay rate is per 30-minute visit. Payment is every other week. You will need to provide verification of US employment eligibility, pass a background check and complete forms for tax withholding allowance.
Additional Information for Dog walkers:
· Typical hours for dog walking are between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Most clients are flexible and a window of time will be given to you by me or owners in which to walk the dog.
The schedule is not the same each day but it is provided a week in advance.
Additional Information for Pet Sitters:
* A typical visit is walking the dogs, feeding the pets, scooping the litter box daily (if cats), mail and paper pickup, taking in packages, if necessary, trash/recycling to curb and back and doing any light watering for indoor/outdoor plants.
* If you have time left over you can just sit with the dogs and/or cats and play with and pet them.
* Pets are creatures of habit so pet sitting visits times are usually done at roughly the same time each day.
* Most cat visits are once a day and that time can (usually) be whenever works into your schedule.
* If the visits are twice a day for cats, then one visit will be in the morning between 8-10 a.m. and one visit in the early evening (4-7 p.m.) unless the client requests something different.
* For dogs, the timing is 7:30 -8:30 am, 2-4 pm and 8-9 pm.
