The Maintenance Technician will maintain facilities in accordance with established policies and procedures.

About the role:

  • Conducts routine and preventative maintenance as assigned by the Facilities Director in a timely manner including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring and mechanical oriented tasks.
  • Documents receipt, completion of, and time associated with completion of work orders.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies. Submits requests for supplies to the Facilities Director as needed. Confirms the receipt of supplies with packing slips and invoices.
  • Conducts and documents monthly inspection of all emergency systems and equipment.
  • Provides the Facilities Director with periodic reports regarding maintenance priorities and deferred work orders.
  • Ensures all plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems are in working order.
  • Maintains a good understanding of local maintenance schedules, codes, manufacturer warranties, and service agreements.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with fire and other inspection codes.
  • Ensures fleet vehicles are cleaned and maintained on a regular schedule to include oil changes, routine servicing, and weekly fueling.

Education: Associates or Technical degree or Trade School graduate or apprenticeship

Experience: Three years' experience in property maintenance.

OR - Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive by The Salvation Army's insurance carrier.
