Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of freight sales to ensure satisfactory sales and profits for the company, maintain a set of current freight accounts for all of Alaska, source new business, work with management and operations teams to provide the best service possible to our customer base. This position will be responsible for accounts from Homer to Fairbanks. Addressing the needs and ensuring the satisfaction of our customers

Essential Duties and Responsibities:

Maintain a sound working knowledge of all markets
Maintain a sound working knowledge of all markets and growing conditions.
Notify and assist operations and sales support persons by communication of customer’s needs and preferences.
Maintain effective, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
Participate in special projects deemed necessary to the operation and well-being of the company.
Assist other sales reps with daily activities as required
Facilitate freight sales and coordinate with produce sales reps by creating freight rate presentations
Responsible for Quality and Food Safety
Responsible for approving credit memos associated with the freight accounts
In state travel

Major Activities

Pursuing new accounts / cold calling
Call on and visit existing customers
Phone selling
Develop specific customer pricing
Meeting sales objectives
Attend sales meetings

Position requires performing any combination of the following job duties:

Keeping abreast of market conditions Pricing strategies-developing pricing guides
Meeting all company and sales profit objectives
Assist in warehouse tours
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

Timely and accurate with paperwork, figures, attentive to detail, and have good follow-through, excellent phone skills, PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal human relations and teaming skills.
Quick and accurate with paperwork, figures, attentive to detail, and have good follow-through.
Skilled in time management and be capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
Must be flexible and able to deal with a variety of details simultaneously
Must have proven problem-solving skills
Must have demonstrated excellent written, verbal and oral presentation skills
High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrate excellent work record with references from current and/or previous employers.
Previous logistics experience in Alaska preferred
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
