What You Will Be Doing:

The Behavioral Health Treatment Manager works closely with the Behavioral Health and Social Services, Contracting, Provider Services, Compliance, Audits and Oversight, and Quality Improvement departments on the behavioral health program initiatives as directed by HPSJ strategies and objectives. Work is varied and complex and requires a moderate to high degree of discretion and independent judgement.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops team goals based on established objectives, participating with peers to ensure effective integration; oversees the department and implementation of associated action plans.
  • Identifies, develops, and implements effective behavioral health treatment program to address identified needs of our members.
  • Monitors and analyzes performance; takes appropriate actions based on findings.
  • Establishes and recommends changes to policies; ensures implementation of appropriate procedures, guidelines, and other documents.
  • Oversees the process of the team to closely with patients seeking behavioral health treatment; from initiation to access of services and referrals to community supports.
  • Attends and participates in external stakeholder meetings relevant to behavioral health treatment services.
  • Assists in the development of department budget; manages budget for area of responsibility.
  • Identifies the need for and oversees department implementation of system enhancements.
  • Resolves or assists with the resolution of complex, sensitive and other service issues.
  • Prepares for internal and external audits, and in the preparation of recommendations, responses, and reports.
  • Complies, develops, and submits internal and external reports with presentations at meetings and committee meetings.
  • Promotes and maintains and ensures that direct reports promote and maintain an environment that supports the organization’s strategy, vision, mission, and values.
  • Hires, develops, supervises, and retains an adequate and competent staff.

What You Have:

Education and Experience

Required

  • Current active unrestricted license certification of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA
  • 5 years of previous experience in case management/utilization management with a broad range of experience with ABA/BHT cases
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain and expand knowledge and be easy to work with.
  • Consistent modeling of leadership behavior/values in the industry/workplace are essential.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, Mental Health, Healthcare administration or similar field strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of DHCS and NCQA accreditation requirements preferred.

Licenses, Certifications

  • Active and Current Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
