Job Description

Description:

The shipping and receiving coordinator’s role are to performs all operations of the shipping/receiving/warehousing department and purchases raw materials. This involves effective space utilization, accurate documentation and coordination with Customer Service and manufacturing personnel.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse

  • Assures all shipping/receiving activities proceed in a timely and accurate manner, including raw and packaging materials and customer returns
  • Responsible for computer entry and administrative management of incoming and outgoing materials, with ability to communicate internally as required
  • Evaluates processes and recommends changes to enhance operations
  • Assure all shipping/receiving equipment is maintained and scheduled for routine maintenance
  • Operates forklift equipment safety.  Forklift license current.
  • Communicates appropriate freight costs to Customer Service/Accounting and management.
  • Responsibilities for participation in maintaining and auditing for GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements.
  • Assures Shipping/Receiving personnel adhere to all HACCP, SQF and other regulatory or third-party requirements for receipt of raw and packaging materials
  • Shall support Food Safety Culture activities within the organization in support of Food Safety Management System in accordance with the Food Safety Code for Manufacture of Food Packaging
  • Assures Shipping/Receiving is aware of and adheres to all import/export compliance issues
  • Serves as liaison with manufacturing, engineering and customer service personnel
  • Negotiates LTL and TL transportation rates for inbound and outbound sales
  • Input incoming shipment information (receiving) into AX

Purchasing

  • Reviews product min-max inventory requirements with production and customer Service each month
  • Purchase and maintain appropriate inventory of raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Resin Control:  Contacts resin supplier for orders and deliveries, while ensuring resin delivery feeds are appropriate; direct resin deliveries to appropriate silos; and maintain the required preventative maintenance of silos (cleaning schedule) and feeds from same
  • Maintain computerized inventory of raw-material and packaging
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure best quality, price and service; including vendor audits and maintenance of approved vendor list
  • Provide inventory reports of daily, weekly, and monthly raw material, packaging material and finished-goods as required
  • Oversees supply/demand planning for facility
  • Understands and practices 80/20 analysis programs
  • Shall acknowledge the Zip-Pak policy of requesting self-reporting of any illness, foodborne pathogens, or diseases which may be transmitted to food products and food contact surfaces that may jeopardize food safety.
  • Shall be made aware of and support Australia’s National Heavy Vehicle Legislation-Chain of Responsibility (CoR) where designated applicable to this position within the COR Program for Zip-Pak support of Australia’s CoR Legislation.

Shipping

  • Assures shipments include proper and correct shipping documents and are included with shipments
  • Coordinate upcoming ship dates with product availability
  • Receive customer order and pull product
  • Prepare for shipping, including required labeling
  • Call transportation if needed
  • Load truck
  • Input information into AX.
  • Provides Leadership and day to day job expectations to Site Material Handlers

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively handle pressure and challenges
