About this job

Job Summary:  Responsible for the daily production of candy and caramel apples and additionally our in- house production of gourmet chocolate products. Responsible also for assisting the full time supervisor in maintaining adequate inventory levels for all candy products. Candy Producer is required to interact with guests, team members and supervisors on a daily basis.  Candy producer may be required to work outdoors and work closely with others.  Must be able to function in all weather conditions for long periods of time and may be exposed to direct sunlight, dust, dirt, and water.

Special Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attendance at ServSafe training
  • Production of all in-house produced chocolate products, candy/caramel dipped apples & fruit.
  • Communicate production supply information & inventory weekly to Supervisor
  • Record all production items by date in Production Log Book. Keep inventory of all park produced items & control spoilage.
  • Keep adequate inventory of all fudge and gourmet chocolates purchased from outside vendors, to assist full-time supervisor in reordering.
  • Must be able to operate fudge kettle & candy apple machines
  • Check that all major candy locations in the park are stocked & Guest ready
  • Keep candy stores clean & Guest ready at all times
  • Ability to merchandise candy products to look appealing & generate sales
  • Inform candy store staff necessary information on all park produced & gourmet candies to increase sales.
  • Must be creative & have ideas on ways to make new varieties of decorative candy.
  • Maintain a clean and organize production area.
  • Comply with all safety regulations in production area including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

Qualities of a Successful Candy Production Team member:

  • Must have 1+ years in Retail or Food Service
  • Must have friendly, outgoing, personable demeanor
  • Must work efficiently, sometimes independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have good time management skills

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, nights and on weekends
  • Requires frequent kneeling, manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and color definition.
  • Requires using a telephone. 
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Requires some lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech. 
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a times and as many as 14 hours a day.
  • Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day over various surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs consistently.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs over 25 feet over various surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift and lower 5 lbs above shoulder level.
  • Must be able to climb a stepladder up to 6 ft. in height.
