psi is looking for a RN School Health Prn Substitute to support Public, Private and Charter Schools serving Kindergarten through 12th Grade Students in the Akron/Canton Area.

psi is dedicated to providing high-quality services to help students improve their grades, attitudes, health and behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor student health needs and provide appropriate nursing interventions and services to students by performing professional nursing duties as defined in the psi Health Resource Guide and the State Department of Health and in accordance with acceptable nursing practice guidelines
  • Ensure that school health records are properly maintained
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor student behavior and reaction to the administration of medication
  • Provide first aid as required and nursing interventions for medical complaints
  • Complete required documentation of health services needed and provided
  • Administer screenings
  • Ensure immunization records are up to date for each student
  • Provide and promote relationships between community health providers and students, parents, and the community at large.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license through the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Must be knowledgeable about communicable disease prevention and medication protocol
  • Strong preference for school-based or pediatric experience
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills are required
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Must have a current CPR certification and pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
