Job Description:

Fast growing company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller with a strong emphasis on leadership to join their team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing monthly accounting tasks, accounts payable, invoicing, and general controls. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the CEO and Operations Manager in developing annual budgets and forecasts. This position reports directly to the CEO, requiring a candidate with exceptional leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Oversight: Oversee monthly accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
2. Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.
3. Invoicing: Supervise invoicing processes to ensure accuracy and timely submission to clients or customers.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the CEO and Operations Manager to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
5. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial presentations for senior management. Communicate key financial metrics and trends to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
6. Training and Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including occasional travel for training purposes. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in finance and accounting.
7. Oracle Knowledge: While not mandatory, familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
8. Leadership: Serve as a key leader within the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to accounting staff. Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
9. Communication: Effectively communicate financial performance, trends, and insights to the executive team, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting management roles.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
• Experience with government contracting is a significant plus.
• Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
