We are seeking Field Walkout Technicians to take a lead role in all activity with regards to the field walkout operations. Duties include but are not limited to obtaining all project details and guidelines from the customers, gathering field data information, and determining the best solutions for each project.

Responsibilities

• Perform walkout for telecommunications pole inventory.
• Gathering data and verifying provided data from the customer.
• Gathering information, equipment, and attachment data on utility poles.
• Determine the most efficient route to collect data.
• Information will be gathered and noted onto a questionnaire or updated using a tablet.
• Walk or drive from pole to pole to gather pole specific information and identification of telecommunications equipment.
• Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with customer, safety, and industry specifications.
• Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and ensure adequate inventory.
• Collaborate and team with coworkers, partners, technologies, and customers in all areas of responsibilities to develop and implement the best solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications we are looking for

• 1+ years of telecommunications fielding experience.
• Able to identify telecommunications equipment for copper and fiber such as pole ownership, height and class, pole mounted terminals, test cans, drops, cable, and pedestals.
• Knowledge of telecommunication design and basic construction practices of telecommunications systems.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Able to use the following tools: Tablet, Camera, laser, wheel, pen & clipboard, binoculars, and GPS.
• Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new software and technologies.
• Perform field walkout assignments daily over varying terrain in all weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Must be highly responsible and self-motivated.

Shift is full-time, 40 hours per week minimum, Monday – Friday, within the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Further schedule determinations TBD by hiring teams. Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours as necessary.

Additional Information

• 75% Travel Required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Company vehicles and necessary tools will be provided.
• Must have flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
