Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and provide guidance on SEC disclosure requirements for 10-Q, 10-K, and proxy filings.
  • Administer the company's iXBRL reporting and control framework.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and footnotes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Direct and manage the SEC filings drafting process, collaborating with stakeholders such as management, external auditors, and legal counsel.
  • Ensure the completion of US GAAP and SEC reporting checklists to back quarterly SEC filings and internal controls.
  • Conduct research on accounting literature and apply technical accounting standards to complex business scenarios and transactions.
  • Oversee the creation of written accounting position papers as needed for management and external auditor review.
  • Handle disclosures related to the adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Contribute to the companys SOX compliance efforts, including maintaining control documentation and overseeing financial reporting processes.
  • Implement and manage a new stock plan administrator, including related policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the administration of the company's equity plans, liaising with vendors to ensure accurate grant administration.
  • Manage the accounting and recognition of stock compensation expense as part of the quarterly financial statement close.
  • Undertake additional tasks within the scope of the position as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • CPA certification required or actively being pursued.
  • Experience with Wdesk or other web-based reporting systems is highly valued.
  • A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in accounting/SEC reporting.
  • Strong experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting, including knowledge of iXBRL reporting.
  • Pharmaceutical/Life Science industry experience is preferable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detail and the ability to distill complex information.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships within a matrix organization.
  • Significant project management experience.
  • Flexibility to work extended, non-traditional hours as necessary during peak periods.
