Summary

This person must be qualified by training and experience to carry out their respective functions in the administration, operation and maintenance of The Creative Play Learning Center.They must be mature, of good character and possess suitable personal qualifications.They must be in good physical and mental health and have the energy and emotional stability necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Duties

Plan, supervise and implement the program for child care in accordance with the policies and philosophy of this center.
Gear the program to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents and individual style and pace of learning.
Consider individual children in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background.
Treat children with dignity and respect.
Help children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
Be responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance, decor and learning environment of the room.
Assume equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
Attend all staff meetings.
Plan and implement one staff training meeting each year.
Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth.
Implement methods for effectively utilizing the services of your assistants.
Plan and implement methods of establishing a positive liaison with the parents and caregivers.
Conduct parent/caregiver conferences on children's adjustment and behavior.
Assist in ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children.
Assist in public-relations events sponsored by the center.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field (no additional experience required).

OR
CDA credential or 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related Field, with a plan leading to a CDA credential and Two years experience related to caring for children.

AND
1 year of specific training /or experience in infant or toddler care which may be demonstrated by obtaining an Infant Toddler Child Care credential.
