Description

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking your talent as a Systems Administrator, who specializes in SolarWinds, to support our N2NOMS program. Our customer maintains a highly demanding mission and requires our support to provide expert technical and professional management support to the commands enterprise Information Technology (IT) services.

The System Administrator will support a program that provides sustainment, maintenance, Problem and Change management services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the Department of Defense IP networks. Specifically, this Systems Administrator position focuses on building, operating, and maintaining the Orion SolarWinds platform.

This position will report directly to the System Administrator Lead. This position is located at our customer site at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.

Salary: $38.00 - 42.00/hour


What will you do in this role?

  • Build/deploy/program/manage SolarWinds instances in support of the NORAD & USNORTHCOM Mission.

  • Ensure network monitoring software SolarWinds server, and environmental monitoring applications platforms are maintained/supported to quickly detect, diagnose, and resolve network performance problems and outages.

  • Understand, implement, deploy, and utilize MIB structure for environmental oversite and reporting.

  • Execute network, system, and cloud systems monitoring/surveillance, environmental monitoring, and support Cybersecurity measures.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on network and system monitoring and service delivery of program required metrics.

  • Execute SolarWinds Orion database maintenance/patching/STIG compliance.

  • Administer, manage, and deploy all aspects of SolarWinds within a geographically separated region.

  • Manage SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) as monitoring software to enable the rapid detection, diagnosis, and resolution of network performance problems and outages while boosting troubleshooting, increasing service levels, and reducing downtime.

  • Assist the Event Monitoring Team Lead in communicating with the Problem Manager, NOC/JOC Watch Officers, and other key leadership to ensure predefined service levels for the IT Services organization are achieved and to also provide insight into the impacts of the event posture.

  • Be responsible for collaborating with Windows and Linux systems engineers, application technical support analysts and developers, internal and external support teams, network infrastructure technicians and Boundary Engineers to determine requirements for filters, events, alerts, and dashboards and reporting.

  • Perform administrative tasks for SolarWinds console to provide application support for the respective platforms, create and maintain monitoring and notification rules.

  • Review and update application security, apply patches, create console roles and reviews, and create and install custom Management Packs (MP) as required.

  • Transfer knowledge via documentation and training to Business Technology resources and develop and maintain the team’s training plan and standard operating procedures/operating instructions.

These are the required qualifications:

  • Bachelors with 2 years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree

  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

  • Must have DoD-8570 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ce) baseline certification at start date.

  • Must have a relevant server certification.

  • Must be available for on-call support as required.

  • Day-to-day fluency using Microsoft Active Directory to manage policies & user objects.

  • Knowledge of security policies and general vulnerabilities management.

These are the preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in associated field.

  • Proven knowledge of computer security principles and DoD security protocols.

  • SQL programming experience.

  • ITIL Foundations Certification.

  • CASP+ce.

  • Excellent project, technical, interpersonal, presentation and problem management skills.

  • Ability to communicate orally, and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts.

  • Familiarization of NORAD/USNORTHCOM missions and DOD regulations and directives.
