The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Commercial Sales Training Manager, Point of Care. The Commercial Sales Training Manager directly is responsible for design, development and facilitation of corporate sales training programs. This role will be a conduit of learning, advancing the skills, knowledge and abilities of current teammates and new hires. They establish, model, and coach best in class sales skills and promote practices to drive sales of the entire QuidelOrtho portfolio into hospital, POL, Urgent Care, Public Health, and Government segments leveraging opportunities that are direct and through distribution. This role will be subject matter expert in the Point of Care and Molecular testing lines of business. They advise, coach, and promote the career advancement of employees to ascend to the highest level of sales delivery to aid in attainment of performance goals and targets. This role supports the training of both the sales and technical commercial teammates.

The Responsibilities
  • Develops, models, and coaches best in class sales skills / practices to drive sales and help the field sales organization meet and exceed revenue goals.

  • Develops, plans, coordinates, and executes POC training content and is responsible for cross-training fellow training counterparts.

  • Partners with NA Marketing organization on POC and Molecular product launches and reinforces content to skill-up sales organization's ability to drive business to QuidelOrtho solutions. Further Align content to Global standards of excellence.

  • Build field training mentor program by partnering with NA Leadership to identify mentor candidates within product segment to ensure with commercial management team has resources to adequately coach on sales calls across market segments along with technical knowledge and skills.

  • Promotes the training philosophy and confirms all company activities are developed and designed with operations in mind.

  • Designs, facilitates, and executes, and effectiveness of in-role training strategies and programs that will enable the commercial organization to exceed product specific targets for revenue, profitability, instrument placements, menu expansion, and win & retention rate.

  • Proactively develops solutions to ensuring training content can be maximized by the field sales organization and leverage resources to maximize sales, revenue, and marketing opportunities.

  • Contributes to the development of "Best in Class" sales performance tools, materials, and systems to assist the sales team to meet or exceed revenue goals.

  • Leverage field coaching as a mechanism to adjust, flex and modify training content and deliverables to better enable sales organization to successfully leverage tools, resources and drive sales process.

  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Biological Science, or related field.

  • Sales Experience: 7+ years of experience in related sales or customer-facing roles

  • Industry Experience: 5+ years of sales experience in healthcare diagnostic industry POC and Molecular

  • Knowledge of all aspects of diagnostic sales process, technical product and marketing

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude at company functions, encourages team camaraderie and enthusiasm

  • Travel: 50%

Preferred:

  • Prior training or facilitation experience preferred.

The Work Environment

Typical work week and hours in a home office-based environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills and self-motivation to work autonomously in a home office environment. Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk. Occasionally required to bend, twist, and reach. Must be physically able to travel up to 60%. Must maintain a valid driver's license and must own and maintain an automobile suitable for travel to customer sites, airport, etc. Travel includes airplane, train, automobile, and overnights. Typical workday, 80% meeting with people in field or classroom, 20% of the time on computer, doing paperwork, or on the phone. Must be able to lift-up to 25 pounds. Travel 50% of time.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $136,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
