Your New Role...

The PAVE Employment Coordinator will support underrepresented youth ages 17-24 to identify and develop career, employment, educational, and personal goals in New Avenues' PAVE program. Using a positive youth development and trauma-informed approach, the role will focus on career exploration, skill building, training, and goal development in both one-on-one and group settings. The Employment Coordinator can be expected to coordinate and/or facilitate workshops and projects that align with program goals. This role also serves as an ambassador for PAVE programs and markets New Avenues' career exploration opportunities to youth and community partners to promote and generate youth referrals. The Employment Coordinator may work across multiple locations including the Youth Opportunity Center located in East Portland, area high schools, and our downtown location. In addition, the Employment Coordinator will collaborate with staff across New Avenues in order to create a model that provides the most effective, comprehensive services for program youth.

Knowledge & Skills:

* Desire to work with multicultural staff and youth.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Strong computer and organizational skills.

* Know how to maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services, track youth participation in development activities, and document youth progress in accordance with performance reporting requirements.

* Ability to conduct eligibility reviews and follows program enrollment processes.

* Willingness to transport clients to various community activities is required. Regular access to an automobile, a valid driver's license, and acceptable driving record required.

* Fluent in both English and Spanish a plus.

Education & Experience:

* Prior relevant work experience, lived experience, or both. A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related human services field a plus.

* A minimum two years of experience working with high-risk youth required.

* Workforce development experience preferred.
