Roofing Superintendent

Busy Construction Company seeks experienced, reliable, energetic self-starter to manage multiple crews simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be comfortable overseeing the entire operation of the construction site. They should be able to determine and address any risk areas in order to maintain the safety of workers. This candidate should be experienced in communicating project milestones with clients and other parties, and be able to establish a timeline for completion. This is not an office position. This title requires in field experience as the daily tasks and duties are out in the field everyday.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced, reliable, enthusiastic self-starter to manage multiple crews effectively and handle customer interactions professionally while getting the job done on schedule. We specialize in large-scale roofing, siding, and exterior trim projects, and value our reputation for fine workmanship and outstanding customer service. Currently looking for shingle and/or flat roofing experience for this superintendent position.

Experience in the construction industry (particularly roofing and siding) and an understanding of the specific safety issues inherent to this industry is required. You will ensure project expectations regarding safety, quality, schedule, and cost guidelines are met or exceeded. Additionally, the role will provide timely coaching and mentoring to the crew members to develop professional growth and cultivate a healthy team environment. Excellent communication skills a must. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required as a company vehicle is provided.

Key Responsibilities and Position Requirements

Ø Overall site management of concurrent multi-family projects.

Ø Demonstrate ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment, adhering to project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are being met.

Ø Possess ability to effectively analyze and solve problems while working under pressure even when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.

Ø Conduct routine safety meetings and enforce company safety rules at all times.

Ø Effectively interact with building occupants and address any concerns.

Ø Maintain good communication with office to report any issues on-site and participate in resolution when appropriate.

Ø Document pre-job, in-progress, and post-job site conditions.

Ø Coordinate warranty walk-throughs and execute follow-up lists.

Ø Demonstrate solid communication and computer skills.

· 3 - 5 years of experience in construction area Strong project management and communications skills

· Ability to read construction documents

· Familiarity with regulatory construction standards

Ø Possess 5+ years’ experience working on new and/or renovation-type construction projects.

Ø Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (earned or pursuing) is a big plus.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform roofing and siding repairs as scheduled by our Customer Service Department

· Problem solve leaks and find their source

· Communicate with our office and homeowners

· Accurately log notes for each visit

· Work independently and manage your time

· Other duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· 5 or more years of experience as a roofer

· Shingle and/or flat roofing experience

· General carpentry skills

· Valid driver’s license

· Good organizational and time management skills

· Problem solving

· Fluent in both writing and speaking English

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Being Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus

· Siding installation and repairs

· Gutter installation and repairs

· Window installation and repairs

Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record since company vehicle is provided. We are based in the southwest suburbs but work all over Chicagoland. Qualified individuals please send resume and/or letter of experience

Salary is based on experience, but we offer some of the most competitive pay in the industry. Friendly work environment, company vehicle, and benefits after prescribed period (health & life insurance, 401k, paid vacation and holidays). This is a full time, year round, position with benefits including vacation pay, health insurance, and a 401K program. Pay will be based on skill and experience.
