Sanitation Lead

Position Overview

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

· Direct supervision of a Team of sanitation employees

• Ensure that activities are done on time, properly and in a safe manner
• Ensures that all SSOP’s are implemented as established
• Ensures that chemicals, cleaning tools and protective equipment are available for Sanitation Team
• Control and use of special sanitation equipment
• Perform cleaning activities are needed
• Organize a crew of sanitation employees to maintain the facilities in best sanitary conditions
• Ensure full compliance with all government food safety regulations, and maintain highest possible industry food standards, as directed by your supervisor.​
• Insure the facility is in compliance with all GMP / company policies relating to Sanitation.
• Interact effectively with management and co-workers to maintain positive, responsive relationships and assure rapid and effective cleaning.
• Sweep, pick up rubbish, and dispose properly.
• Clean equipment using department procedures and supervisor’s instructions.
• Inform supervisor and management of supply shortages or equipment issues.
• Perform work quickly, efficiently, effectively, and safely.
• Knowledge and experience in the food industry is helpful.
• Good interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively work with coworkers and supervisors is desirable.
• Knowledge of company procedures and expectations. Communicate deviations.
• Knowledge of HACCP, organic, gluten free, and allergen requirements.
• Knowledge of chemical safety and food industry sanitation procedures helpful.
• FDA and USDA experience desired.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum five years experience in the fresh food processing environment in sanitation activities
• Knowledge of third party/customer expectations and auditing schemes and requirements
• Knowledge of organic and allergen requirements.
• Knowledge of chemicals use, concentrations and safety handling
• Strong knowledge of food industry sanitation procedures.

Pay Rate: $21.25 + $0.75 2nd shift differential
