The Daughters of Charity is a congregate living facility for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity. We have independent, assisted and memory care areas and are located in a wonderful parklike setting. Vehicle parking is on site. Due to a retirement, we have a position open for a Director of Facilities. This individual will be responsible for the oversight, management and planning of the organization's properties, vehicles and physical environment; ensures that the environment and property is maintained in accord with the applicable regulations and standards and in accordance wit the values of the Daughters of Charity. This position is responsible for the following. This is not all inclusive.

Plan, supervise and coordinate all maintenance, repairs, upkeep of buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment.

Understand all policies and procedures and apply them fairly and constructively to a diverse population.

Plan and conduct periodic in service training programs for staff in safe work habits involving fire safety, workplace safety, electrical installations, power tools, laundry equipment, lawn tools, cleaning products, insecticides, etc.

Provide hands on training and assistance with departmental tasks as needed.

Formulate and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Respond to emergencies and ensure that a current backup plan is in palace at all times and is communicated to those who are or may be involved so that corrective action can be taken in a safe and timely manner.

Participate in the development and management of departmental budgets

Oversee the services provided by contractors and vendors

Function as part of the management team and Safety Officer.

Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.

Maintain an ongoing knowledge of safety, products and techniques.

Excellent communication skills and an the ability to react to change positively are essential.
