Description:

To provide a safe, secure, therapeutic environment for children residing in The House of Good Shepherd programs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; some higher education preferred.
• Current valid NYS driver's license with 1 year driving experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Supervise children in their daily routine in accordance with agency policy and procedures and program protocols;
• Participate in the development and implementation of ongoing activity programs for children in care;
• Maintain a safe, clean and homelike environment for children in care;
• Manage all behavioral problems in a manner that reflects the agency Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training and agency policy and procedures;
• Provide feedback regarding individualized treatment plans and implement these plans as defined by the child's primary therapist/treatment team;
• Regularly participate in staff meetings and supervision;
• Ensure completion of all written documentation as defined by program and agency policy and procedure;
• Ensure that all program and agency policies and procedures are followed;
• In the absence of the shift supervisor or other assigned staff, pass medication in accordance with physicians orders and record medications given according to agency guidelines and procedures;
• Participate in QI training and actively participate in the agency Quality Improvement Program;
• Successfully complete all required agency training as defined by program and agency policy;
• Other related tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
