Job Description

Summary: The Project Crew Technician position floats between job sites based on business need. This position is responsible for supporting the onsite janitorial crew as well as performing general project maintenance such as a variety of semi-skilled maintenance duties including but not limited waxing/buffing floors, carpet cleaning, general wall repair (patching/painting), and general janitorial duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
  • Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
  • Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
  • Operating chemical dispensing units ensuring correct chemical labeling and measurement.
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
  • Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Assisting with the hazardous waste collection
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches, and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. Replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)
  • Performs painting, carpentry, grounds and masonry work.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, and other work area.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Prefer experience in maintaining building systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Ability to operate miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Undeterred by exposure to hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids, and communicable and infectious diseases.
  • Efficient use of time management to complete duties within time frames.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated, observe and troubleshoot maintenance issues.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
  • Floor maintenance experience preferred.
