Summary:

The Calendar Clerk is responsible for oversight of the court calendar for the default services department. This includes managing return dates, appearances and submissions only, and status conferences. The Clerk secures local coverage when necessary and accurately calendars appointments in the case management system. Constant updating of the client and case management systems is required. Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and team lead at any given time.

Key Responsibilities:

Calendar Review

  • Review for accurate dates/times
  • Review for efficiencies
  • Rearrange coverage as necessary

Motions

  • Confirming return dates and appearances in e-courts
  • Notation of case management system
  • Drafting motions for attorney review
  • Filing and sending motions to court
  • Scheduling appearing counsel, both in-house and local
  • Calendaring appointments in the case management system
  • Routing the motion to the appropriate party
  • Ensuring working copies are provided when necessary

Correspondence

  • Ensure clients, attorneys, leads, and courts receive a timely response to all inquiries
  • Review all correspondence before sending for accuracy and detail
  • Notation of case management and client systems
  • Save all correspondence for documentation and audit purposes
  • Communication of any new court requirements to the team lead
  • Communication with courts to confirm dates/appearance requirements
  • Assist with maintaining multiple email boxes
