This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AP Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the overall Accounts Payable (AP) functions of our organization. This role involves handling vendor invoices, processing check runs, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The AP Specialist will also be responsible for setting up new vendors in the system and handling 1099 forms. This is a permanent full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

1. Handle full-cycle accounts payable functions including invoice processing, check runs, and vendor account reconciliation.
2. Set up new vendors in the system and maintain updated vendor information.
3. Prepare and process 1099 forms for vendors.
4. Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring all AP transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
5. Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all employee records and payments are up-to-date.
6. Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to AP and payroll.
7. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
8. Participate in financial audits related to AP and payroll, providing necessary information and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an AP Specialist role or a similar position in the finance/accounting field.
2. Proven experience with invoice processing, check runs, vendor set up, and 1099 forms.
3. Previous experience assisting with month-end close processes.
4. Experience with payroll processing is a must.
5. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact professionally with all levels of staff and vendors.
9. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
