Role and Responsibilities:
The Senior Center Meals on Wheels Server aims to complete all necessary operational duties. The Cafe Manager will be present during business hours of operation and will demonstrate food safety knowledge and supervise the service of meals to in-person diners, following established standards of nutrition, health, and sanitation.
  • Paperwork, record-keeping, follow-up, and phone calls are critical tasks for this position.
  • Set tables
  • Check lunch reservations
  • Count meal donations
  • Help to prepare for meal service
  • Take food temperatures and ensure that all food is at a proper temperature
  • Assist in washing dishes once the meal period is over
  • Assist with any miscellaneous paperwork
  • Greet all guests as they enter the cafe

Physical Demands

  • Work in a busy environment, lifting up to 20lbs regularly
  • Push-pull carts with up to 70lbs force
  • Ability to reach in all directions, Stooping, Crouching, Bending, Walking, Twisting
  • Perform any other duties assigned

Occasionally exposed to outside weather while traveling between locations. Noise is typical of a busy office environment.
