JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for filling all food and drink orders in an efficient, healthful, and attractive manner while rendering excellent customer service. This position will train and perform all functions of deli service which includes: order taking, espresso drink and sandwich preparation, delivery, POS operation, cash handling, equipment cleaning, and general venue maintenance. The schedule will reflect the deli's business needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensures customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and friendly service.
  2. Promotes internal guest service standards with courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and staff.
  3. Assists with food preparation including: sandwich component preparation, cutting and slicing condiments, and replenishing supplies as needed.
  4. Efficiently and courteously take orders and enters into POS system and handles payment methods appropriately.
  5. Prepares food to order including sandwiches, wraps, and soups and promptly delivers orders to guests.
  6. Dispenses beverage and specialty orders including but not limited to: soft drinks, espresso drinks, ice cream and derived items to order.
  7. Ensures that food items are handled in a healthful and safe manner by adhering to food handling standards such as "first in first out", or FIFO, at all times.
  8. Constantly maintains work and supply areas well organized, sanitary and safe. Keeps the deli case full and looking attractive.
  9. Keeps deli seating areas clean and free from debris, promptly disposing of used products left at tables and wiping down tables, chairs and condiment counters under established cleaning guidelines.
  10. At the beginning and end of each shift, checks supply needs and replenishes accordingly.
  11. Keeps supervisor apprised of operational concerns: menu items, recipes, safety practices, kitchen inventory and supply needs, etc.
  12. Reports any health standards or safety needs immediately to supervisor.
  13. Operates equipment, tools and materials in a safe manner at all times.
  14. Adheres to company policies, regulatory laws, codes, and department procedures.
  15. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Effective communication skills - good auditory acuity, responds to questions, provides information, and demonstrates interpersonal skills and abilities that promotes positive guest service.
  2. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  3. Able to make change, reconcile bank and compute discounts.
  4. Physically fit: able to stand/walk for long periods of time; able to perform routine bending and lifting of product up to 20 lbs.; able to perform repetitive motion of arms, hands, wrists and fingers; and occasionally lifts and maneuvers up to 50 lbs.
  5. Must possess or obtain a Food Handler's certificate within 30 days of employment.
  6. Requires a High Security Gaming License clearance.
  7. Must be at least 18 years old.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Six months of food and beverage experience and 3 months' cash handling experience.
