K&N has an immediate need for a Quality Process Engineer to join our team in Grand Prairie, TX Description: The Quality Process Engineer assists in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements including APQP, PPAP, customer concerns and customer visits, gauging, process control plans, supplier issues, IATF 16949 elements and customer-specific requirements. This role actively partners with the Manufacturing Leadership team to align on quality goals, develop plans for improvement and work directly with teams to solve problems. The Quality Process Engineer also serves as teacher/trainer on the use of problem-solving tools. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Establish and implement process control plans and capability studies. Provide quality-related documents to the manufacturing floor, including control plans, visual aids and work instructions. Monitor production floor processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements which includes form, fit, function, reliability, durability and repeatability criteria. Participate in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP). Prepare and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents, including process flow charts, PFMEA and Control Plans, ensuring all elements are met per customer requirements. Participate in and perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan. Comply with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001. Qualifications Experience, Skills & Education: Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Engineering, Business, Quality or related field preferred. 5+ years’ experience in a Quality-related role, preferably in the automotive industry. Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Ability to support and/or lead root cause analysis, disciplined problem-solving and decision-making processes. Experience in a variety of basic operation disciplines: Manufacturing, Quality, Process / Tooling and Shop Floor Supervision. Proven leadership, interpersonal skills and personal development skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience using SPC Software such as MiniTAB, Romer Arm, and GD&T. Additional Qualities Necessary: Possess excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communicate skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Work both independently and collaboratively, as well as under pressure, in handling multiple competing priorities simultaneously. Must have a continuous improvement mindset.
