St. Dominic Villa, an Illuminus Community, is located among the rolling hills of the picturesque driftless region in southwest Wisconsin, just south of Platteville and a short 10-minute drive from Dubuque, Iowa. Open to all, St. Dominic Villa offers long-term skilled nursing care and short-term rehab to older adults and is a truly peaceful place to live and work.


We are looking for compassionate and kindhearted healthcare professionals to join our team and grow their career.

  • Hiring bonus available for full and part-time openings
  • Shift Differential Available for PM and NOC shifts
  • Full-time, part-time and casual openings available
  • Schedules: AM, PM and NOC shifts available. All shifts require every other weekend and a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

  1. Taking and monitoring patient vital signs.
  2. Assisting patients with eating, dressing, and bathing.
  3. Administering medication.
  4. Communicating changes in patient behavior or health status to Nurses, Physicians, and family members.
  5. Maintaining accurate patient records.
  6. Collecting specimen samples when needed.
  7. Taking an active part in patient care planning.
  8. Overseeing Certified Nursing Assistants, Service Aides and Medication Technicians Training.
  9. Preparing patients for transfers or discharge.
  10. Assisting in medical procedures.
  11. Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with residents/patients/clients and family members / personal representatives.
  12. Responsible for maintaining a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  13. Attend training sessions, staff meetings and in-services.
  14. Read and adhere to resident rights agreement and report any violations immediately.
  15. Treat residents, families and other staff with dignity and respect.
  16. Performs other similar duties, as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Licensed Practical Nurse Required, Compact Licensure or willingness to obtain reciprocity in the state of Wisconsin.
  2. New Graduate LPNs welcome to apply.
  3. Experience Preferred: Long Term Care, Nursing Home, Rehab or Assisted Living Background.
  4. Commitment to quality programs and services for the residents/patients/clients.
  5. Excellent communications and human relation skills.
  6. Ability to relate well to the residents/patients/clients, family members / personal representatives.
  7. Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
  8. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and exhibit flexibility when needed.
  9. Ability to hear communication and communicate verbally, visually and in writing with staff and residents.
  10. Tolerant of interruptions and flexible when changes occur - may be subjected to verbal or physical outbursts from residents.
