Job Purpose
To effectively and efficiently check in patients, verify insurance eligibility, confirm and/or reschedule appointments as needed, and collect payments for services provided.
Qualifications/ Skill Sets
- Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand information and effectively present information one-on-one with patients.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or verbally instructed.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.
- Detail oriented. Dental Receptionist must be aware of and follow insurance plan rules and protocols.
- Interpersonal skills. Sometimes patients are in pain and/or mental stress. The Dental Receptionist should be patient and sensitive to patient emotions.
- Listening skills. Dental Receptionist must be able to listen to patients and other healthcare workers and follow directions from a Dentist or supervisor.
- Organizational skills. Dental Receptionist should have excellent organizational skills; insure all record keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed.
- Previous dental office experience preferred but not required.
- Requires excellent customer service skills.
Availability:
Working Hours: M-F, 8:30 AM - 6 PM and Sat, 8:30 AM - 4 PM
Full time: 3 - 4 days a week including some Saturdays
Part Time: 2 - 3 days a week; * Monday and Tuesday availability is highly preferred
