JOB SUMMARY

Servers for the Nantahala Outdoor Center work in River’s End Restaurant which is right on the Nantahala River in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge located in Wesser, NC.

This position reports to our front of house management team and is classified as part time. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Servers are required to have weekend and holiday availability, as well as, be available to work morning, day or evening shifts as needed and outlined by management.


THIS POSITION WILL START BETWEEN MARCH 25 TO MAY 17 OF 2024

Responsibilities

  • Take and serve food and drink orders to NOC guests in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
  • Coordinate with back-of-house for food orders
  • Provide information to guests on menu items, food and drink specials, and meal ingredients
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions with guests
  • Promote to guests the adventures that NOC has to offer along with local area information
  • Complete side work and front of house duties as outlined by the manager on duty
  • Assist other members of the Food and Beverage team as needed
  • Create a clean and inviting atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant by: sweeping, mopping, washing windows, cleaning and stocking the bathrooms and taking out trash
  • Stock drink stations and make tea and coffee
  • Assist other members of the Food and Beverage team as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age
  • Previous serving experience
  • An understanding of the flow of restaurant operations
  • Have a professional appearance and attitude
  • Have great customer service skills
  • Be a good communicator
  • Be able to function as a team player
  • Take direction well
  • Be able to work independently

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Able to carry up to 30lbs
  • Able to carry food trays, trash, bus tubs and ice buckets
  • Must be comfortable working on their feet for as long as eight-hour shifts
  • Servers must be able to speak clearly and concisely
  • Must be comfortable and able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
