We are currently seeking a talented Manual Machinist to join the team.

Job Summary: As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of manual machining equipment to produce precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in manual machining, particularly within the aerospace industry. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to produce aerospace components according to engineering specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of manual machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Conduct quality inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve any issues related to machining processes, tooling, or part quality.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of machining operations, including production logs, inspection records, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Assist with other manufacturing tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manual machinist, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and machining techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training or certification in machining or related field preferred.
