Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week), Flexible schedule from Monday – Sunday, must be willing to work day shift, evening shift, and night shift, does require some holiday shifts.

Position Summary

The Residential Technician functions as a part of the clinical team in a recovery-oriented residential treatment setting. Staff provides the necessary support to individuals who are working toward recovery from substance abuse and/or mental health symptoms. The Residential Technician monitors an adult residential environment by providing supervision to individuals, therapeutic activities, accurate documentation and crisis management.

Required Education and Experience

  • Knowledge skills and abilities comparable to that of a high school graduate are required.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. Prefer one year of relevant experience working with the assigned client population.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of substance abuse, mental health and co-occurring conditions; Knowledge of Horizon’s quality care standards to ensure service delivery supports Horizon’s mission and values; Knowledge of electronic health records and documentation standards as required by the program; Knowledge of detoxification and crisis stabilization techniques, and potential side effects; Skill to operate a computer, utilize an electronic health record, electronic time sheet, and other software/systems used by Horizon; Skill to utilize personal protective equipment in a manner that is compliant with standard precautions and safety expectations; Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client at other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
