Phlebotomist

The specimen collector will be responsible for a number of tasks, including but not limited to processing patient samples, creating batches, and data entry. The Specimen Collector must have experience with data entry in a medical environment to understand the importance of proper entry. It is essential for the Specimen Collector to be able to multitask and prioritize the importance of their tasks. The Specimen Collector must follow safety guidelines including wearing proper PPE, sanitation, and proper disposal of materials.

Additional responsibilities, skills, and education of the Specimen Collector include:

● Specimen collection and proper labeling of patient samples for analysis.

● Great communication with medical providers to obtain patient information.

● Great communication with lab personnel to ensure samples are received in a timely manner.

● Accurately enter patient information into the LIMS system.

● Responsible for monitoring inventory to ensure all supplies are stocked.

● Communicate all discrepancies to the laboratory supervisor.

● Adhere to all confidentiality standards outlined by HIPAA.

● Generate batches for the laboratory staff based on the samples received.

● Perform all other job-related duties assigned by the laboratory supervisor.

Job Requirements

● Phlebotomy Certification required.

● Customer service experience is preferred.

● Data entry experience is preferred.

● Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

● Great communication and ability to work both independently and within a team.
