LA Health and Rehab Center is looking for an Licensed/ Registered Dietitian to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA!
The Dietitian position is responsible for promoting health eating and lifestyle to prevent and treat illness through supervision of dietary modifications and patient eating habits. This person will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient care that is integrated and compatible with the patient focused medical goal and objectives. Primary responsibilities included nutrition assessments, developing and implementing nutrition interventions and monitoring, educating and evaluating the clients progress.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform assessments, and consult with each resident on nutritional matters related to their individual plan of care and/or appropriate specialized care.
- Responsible for developing and supervising the implementation of the individual recipient's nutritional care plan.
- Develop and implement a monthly or quarterly nutritional menu plan.
- Responsible for quarterly inspections of kitchen (Stove, Refrigerators, Freezers, Pantries) for cleanliness and and ensure there is an appropriate storage.
- Collaborate and consult with the cook and/ or interdisciplinary team regarding recommendations for nutrition interventions.
- Providing educational insight regarding nutritional meal planning, safe and healthy eating.
- Establishes and maintain standards for purchasing, storing and preparation of food.
- Maintain kitchen equipment log.
- In-Services staff on a regular basis on nutrition protocols.
- Provide appropriate documentation summarizing the nutrition care plan in the patients medical record.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed or registered Dietitian in good standing with the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum of 2 years' proven experience
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be available at least 10-15 hours quarterly; or as needed.
- Must be able to visit the facility at least once quarterly; or as needed.
