Job Description

In this role you’ll work primarily in the OB department providing nursing care specific to childbearing women, newborn infants, and families based on evidence-base practice. You will also flex into the Med/Surg department to assist when needed.

Work Schedule

  • 0.6 FTE – Nights, 12-hour Shifts, Every 3rd Weekend/Holiday Rotation

Responsibilities include:

  • Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate highest quality nursing care for intrapartum/postpartum and newborn patients.
  • Monitors and recognizes changes in physiologic status, takes appropriate action based on assessment, and evaluates and documents finding and patient response.
  • Interacts frequently with all patient service departments.
  • Utilizes interdisciplinary input to plan, implement and evaluate care.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing, required, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license, or ability to obtain, required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification, required.
  • Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain, required.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification or ability to obtain, required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records.
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards.
