MIG Welding Field Service Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Technician in the Cortland area! This role will be working on large industrial machinery both in house and out in the field servicing client's machines at their sites. A valid driver's license is a must for this role as well as experience or education in Welding and general mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities:

• Providing exceptional customer service, sometimes under difficult circumstances.
• Performing time-sensitive machine repairs by travelling to the site of a down machine.
• Troubleshooting and identifying a wide range of problems with grinder and conveyor systems out in the field, over the phone, and out in the production assembly area.
• Inside sales of parts and tooling products for OEM equipment.
• Doing testing and final assembly of machines and hydraulic systems prior to shipment for functionality, quality, and safety validation.
• Proficient use of Salesforce CRM and Made-to-Manage ERP systems to look up information, enter sales orders, and record accurate details of customer notes.

Essential Skills:

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Welding and rigging for heavy industrial equipment
• Solid knowledge of industrial electronics and wiring (3-phase), motor controls, switches and proximity sensors, and PLC programming
• Pneumatics and hydraulics systems know-how
• Ability to travel (10-15%) with little advance notice
• Ability to handle sales and service calls in a professional manner
• Basic knowledge of proficiency in computers, Outlook, Word and Excel.
