Overview:

We're seeking a dynamic Editorial Lead to join our team on a two-month contract basis. This role requires a self-starter with a background in editorial and content marketing who can contribute a journalistic perspective to our content creation efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for various editorial tasks, including understanding our voice and tone, familiarizing themselves with our products, collaborating with team partners, attending brand editorial syncs, editing articles and newsletters, and assisting with vetting and pitching article ideas.


Responsibilities:

  • Keep abreast of daily news in relevant industries and areas of innovation to inform content creation.
  • Utilize various content formats to meet marketing goals, ensuring consistency with the Salesforce voice and tone.
  • Pitch new story ideas and content formats, overseeing the editorial review process.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize topics, maintain quality, and optimize content delivery.
  • Conduct interviews with Salesforce customers and incorporate their stories into content.
  • Measure success and explore new approaches to content creation.
  • Contribute to other team initiatives, such as events and strategic communications, when necessary.

Additional Details:

  • Fully remote position.
  • Candidates must be available to work from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. PST daily.
  • Immediate hiring expected, with a desired start date before April 1.
  • Interviews will include two writing samples and an editing test.
  • No possibility of extension or permanent role.
  • Candidate must be proficient at bridging work across different departments and representing Brand Editorial in larger team meetings.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in content marketing, journalism, or business writing/editing.
  • Tech industry knowledge preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills following a style guide.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics for a general audience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work externally with customers, partners, and agencies.
  • Experience with digital transformation and content management systems is a plus.
