As a Cheerleading Instructor, you will play a crucial role in developing and nurturing our students' cheerleading skills, team spirit, and confidence. This position involves teaching cheerleading techniques, choreographies, and routines while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students. The Cheerleading Instructor will contribute to our mission of offering comprehensive educational experiences by integrating physical education with character building and social skills development.

General Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Design: Develop a cheerleading curriculum that is engaging, age-appropriate, and tailored to the abilities of students, emphasizing safety, technique, and performance.
  • Instruction: Lead cheerleading sessions that instruct students in cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, and dance routines, ensuring each student progresses and enjoys their learning experience.
  • Safety and Environment: Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring all cheerleading activities comply with safety standards and best practices.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs and abilities.
  • Team Building: Foster a team spirit and a positive group dynamic among students, emphasizing respect, cooperation, and enthusiasm.
  • Event Preparation: Prepare students for performances, competitions, or school events, ensuring routines are polished and teams are ready to perform confidently.
  • Communication: Keep open and regular communication with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress, upcoming performances, and any concerns.
  • Equipment and Materials: Manage cheerleading equipment and materials, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and properly stored.

Major Duties

  • Lesson Planning: Create detailed lesson plans that cover all aspects of cheerleading, including warm-ups, skill drills, routine rehearsals, and cool-downs.
  • Performance Coaching: Coach students to improve their individual skills and team performance, providing personalized attention where needed.
  • Collaboration: Work with school staff and other instructors to integrate cheerleading activities with school events and other programs.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest cheerleading techniques, safety guidelines, and teaching methods to continuously improve the program.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance, using this data to inform teaching practices and communications.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in cheerleading techniques and safety protocols, with the ability to teach students of varying skill levels.
  • Instructional Skills: Experience in designing and implementing engaging and effective cheerleading programs for youth.
