Groomer Team Member - Full-time / Part-time

CT Gardens, LLC, you probably know us best as Smithland, with stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts. We are based out of North Branford CT and looking for Team Members who are friendly, energetic, focused on service, resourceful, team players, have a passion for growing, and an appetite to learn. 
We are looking for a qualified Groomer Team Member who is passionate about animals and has previous pet grooming experience. We are looking for someone to not only to keep pets well-groomed, safe, and healthy, but to build warm, on-going exceptional relationships with pet parents, earning trust and repeat appointments. Our Groomer Team Members treat all pets and pet parents with caring, kindness, and respect. Our Pet Groomers stay informed about the pet industry trends and grooming standards. 
Duties include: 
Engaging with pet parents and their pets in a professional manner. 
Following a Check-in Procedure, to ensure that all pets are up to date on rabies and all other required vaccinations for the pet to be groomed in our salon. 
Opening and closing of the grooming salon. 
Maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitized work area. 
Adhering to all policies and procedures required for pet safety and Team Member safety. 

Qualifications includes minimum of 1-2-years’ experience as a Certified Pet Groomer and/or open to continuing education/training through National Dog Groomers Association or America (NDGAA) a plus. Groomer Team Members must be familiar with breed profile guidelines and scissoring techniques as well as other appropriate cuts, such as puppy cut, a lamb cut, a lion cut and how to execute an allover shave down. Our Groomer Team Member have a general knowledge of Pet Nutrition and Pet Supplies within our brands. Groomer Team Members have a high level of enthusiasm for service and personal energy, a strong work ethic, and strong interpersonal and conversational skills to really connect with the pets and the pet parents. Groomer Team Members should have some sales experience and a great attention to detail, an ability to work well in a team environment, and to work with a diverse staff. Applicants must be 18 years old and be able to lift 50 pounds, stretch and stand for long periods of time. Our Groomer Team Members are required to pass a test upon extension of an offer by a qualified Groomer. 
Qualified candidates will be required to work a schedule of either Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday thru Thursday, during regular work weeks. During holiday weeks and the week leading up to it, Smithland Groomer Team Members are required to work Wednesday through Sunday with Monday and Tuesday off to accommodate clientele needs for those weeks.
