Job Description

Duties are to clean and sanitize the processing/production equipment per the SSOP and requires an understanding of the CIP (Clean In Place) process for fillers, tanks, pasteurizers, and valves. This includes removing filters, screens, hoses, and other items to clean and sanitize the equipment. This individual will also be responsible for general plant sanitation such as removing refuse, sweeping, and cleaning floors. They will also be responsible for accurate documentation of the tasks completed and working with all department employees to ensure the facility is clean.

Major Job Functions

This description is general in nature - the duties listed include - but are not inclusive of :

  • Must be able to maintain a high level of food safety and product quality through the cleaning and sanitizing of processing equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stoop and kneel.
  • Must be able to pull CIP rinse water samples from production lines which involves reaching, stretching, and bending.
  • Must be able to climb stairs to access and clean tanks.
  • Must be able to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to read English CIP/COP policies and procedures and adhere to them.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow facility's GMP and SOP.
  • Must be able to work with cleaning agents and wear proper PPE.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out the concept of chemical awareness (safe use and storage).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime when needed.
  • Responsible for completing and documenting assigned tasks as per Master Sanitation.

This position is a second shift position with that has some scheduled hours on Sunday.
