We have some openings as a General Maintenance Worker on Day Shift.


Summary

The General Maintenance Worker performs a variety of tasks involving the general maintenance and repair of buildings, premises, and varied equipment, and to perform other duties. May be required to perform lock repairs, woodworking tasks, electrical, painting, heating, and ventilating services and any other normal routine maintenance duties associated with operation of the buildings and equipment.


SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

· Performs miscellaneous repair, maintenance construction, general installation, and preventative maintenance work under the direction of Manager-Maintenance and Facilities, or a skilled trades’ person.

· Performs a variety of repair and tasks while directly assisting trades personnel including and not limited to replacing floor tile, replacing electrical ballasts and fluorescent tubes, painting graffiti, repair fencing, patch asphalt or concrete, setting forms, installing paper towel or toilet paper dispensers, patching holes in plaster or wood walls, installing whiteboards, installing tack boards, patching roofs, scraping paint, trenching, cleaning out keyways of locks, vandalism repair work, preventative maintenance on equipment, pressure washing, locker repair work, sheet metal repair, tile repair/ replacement both ceiling and ceramic bathroom tile, grounds and tree maintenance.

· Operates various equipment to perform woodwork, furniture, flooring, etc. repair.

· Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up rooms for special meetings or events.

· Performs minor inspection duties of work performed or general building condition under the direction of a supervisor of a skilled trades’ person.

· Clean buildings and properties including hauling debris and trash to the dumpster, cleaning tools and equipment and ensuring tools, materials and equipment are stored properly.

· Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

· Maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.

· Aggressively promote safety, regulatory, and policy compliance.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

· High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus

· Valid NC driving license

· Must be comfortable climbing tall ladders, working at elevated levels

· Use common hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers to replace, or repair equipment and parts of buildings
