What You Can Expect

As the Head of Security, based in Westminster, CO or Houston, TX, you will direct, coordinate, plan, implement, and organize security and safety-related activities for all Global Business Units (GBUs) and other ENGIE entities operating within your country (or area) of responsibility. You will serve as the focal point for all security-related communications with internal ENGIE staff and external parties. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse group of individuals from various internal organizational entities to manage the security environment effectively. Your responsibilities include providing efficient security information, organizing prevention and protection measures, and implementing strategies to minimize security risks to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable, thereby ensuring a sustainable business environment.

Reporting to the Country Manager of North America, your primary duties encompass:

  • Advise Country Manager and Leadership Team on security issues
  • Develop and implement a cohesive safety and security plan for ENGIE North America
  • Ensure that action plans with respect to security are aligned with group policies and standards
  • Foster development and act as a liaison with staff from all local ENGIE entities, and, as necessary, engage with local administrations and relevant government agencies/military
  • Serve as a liaison to the group security and business intelligence department, actively engage in dialogue with other Regional HUB Chief Security Officer(s) and Country Security Managers by consistently participating in the bi-weekly Group security meetings
  • Proactively identify, monitor, and appropriately react to potential and actual threats to ENGIE employees, assets and facilities and provide alerts on immediate threats and emerging security policy trends of concern to the Country Manager and Leadership Team for informed decision making
  • Maintain a complete awareness of current and developing information security regulations, technology, and threats and contribute to the group security department "Threat Watch"
  • Facilitate exchanges between the group security department (and more specifically its business intelligence unit) and the entities/managers to whom the information is relevant
  • Ensuring the implementation of suitable physical security measures in the country (badges, cameras, alarms, electronic/physical locks, etc.)
  • Coordinate safety teams across the four (4) ENGIE GBUs in North America to ensure a unified community adheres to ENGIE standards
  • Represent the region in global safety activities and reporting
  • Protect the sensitive and/or strategic information by raising staff awareness of information protection by conducting a mapping of this data in liaison with all internal or external entities involved (and in particular the DPOs/CDPMs, CISOs, risk officers, internal control officers, and the local authorities for "national security" classified documents), by implementing the group information classification, and by conducting or participating in the investigations when there is an identified leak of sensitive information
  • Be prepared to manage a crisis (or participate in the crisis call) when a security issue is involved
  • Participate in the annual security internal control
  • Perform routine gap assessments and remediation plans for physical security, personnel security, operational security, security architecture and risk management
  • Lead and manage security planning for international events, major customer events, and corporate events
  • Develop country-specific policies, procedures, and security plans to maintain appropriate security for the various types and categories (as directed, and in coordination with the overall security group and in line with global security policies) in respect with the group security rules
  • Conduct regular third-party independent audits and/or due diligence on third parties (sub-contractors, private security firms), sharing outcomes with the group security department as required
  • Work with business developers in order to identify risks and propose adapted solutions for decision making
  • Report to the Country Manager of North America all risks (people, infrastructure, information) identified for both existing and planned assets
  • Carries out other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience in law enforcement, government/military security services, or related private security sectors
  • Demonstrates resilience and composure under pressure, efficiently managing crises with a level-headed approach
  • Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, adept at coordinating with colleagues from various disciplines and teams
  • Independent and proactive, with the capability to operate both solo and within team settings, effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and relationship-building competencies, fostering positive interactions and connections
  • Skilled in delivering clear and concise briefings, both written and verbal, to a range of stakeholders

Additional Details

  • Able to work in unique, remote, and challenging locations including production and construction sites
  • Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 40% of the time, and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range: $150,800 - $216,775 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
