Competitive Intelligence Intern - Redwood City, California

The Competitive Intelligence Intern will support the execution of competitive intelligence and market research plans. You are driven, enthusiastic, and innovative in your approach to collecting, analyzing, and preparing research results. You will work on projects related to analyzing the competitive environment using the latest technology such as AI, building competitive battlecards and other resource assets for sales, and working with industry-leading competitive intelligence tools.

You will gain valuable real-world experience and insights into competitive dynamics, market trends, and industry-leading B2B SaaS technologies.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Competitive Intelligence.

This internship will be based at our Redwood City headquarters (Hybrid 2-3 days in the office)

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

  • Conduct research studies and make presentations on competitors and market trends.
  • Analyze the competitive environment and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Create and update existing competitive intelligence content that supports business development and helps drive revenue.
  • Learn how to create and distribute competitive insights from disparate market and technical information.
  • Assist preparing reports on core competitive metrics - win and incident rates, trends, win/loss analyses, and more via static reports and/or dynamic dashboards.
  • Provide trend updates and relevant information for supported product lines and markets.

What We'd Like to See

  • Must be pursuing Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Must graduate between Dec 2025 - Jun 2027.
  • Self-directed and action-oriented, with the ability to manage small projects.
  • Experience conveying complex ideas and data.
  • Basic productivity suite skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to do market and competitor research, and present research results to leadership
  • Nice-to-have programming skills: Python, R, or SQL

Role Essentials

  • Ability to create cohesive stories and actionable intelligence from in-house or external research studies.
  • Create and maintain competitive intelligence collateral by working cross-functionally to gather and interpret information.
  • Effectively collect and distribute competitive collateral and insights using competitive intelligence tools, such as Klue or Crayon, Microsoft Office (including Teams and Power BI), Tableau, and Seismic.
  • Utilize competitive intelligence tools and manual methods to assist in evaluating competitive utilization and effectiveness.
