DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Cosmetologist 1, you will assess each consumer's hair, head, and scalp. You will provide shampoos, haircuts, scalp and hair treatments, permanent waves, relaxers, coloring for root coverage only, manicures, and other treatments. You will operate the beauty shop in accordance with the State Board of Examiners Rules and Regulations for consumers, adhering to proper sanitation of tools and equipment. You will also keep daily records of services provided and send a weekly report of all unit statistics to the department supervisors. In addition, you will answer telephone calls and communicates messages; attend mandated classes as assigned; and maintain good working relationships with other employees and nursing unit supervisors by being aware and following policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:

• You must possess a license as a Cosmetologist as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
