Staffmark has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Pomona, CA, and we're seeking a skilled Welder to join their dynamic team. Salary Range: $24 - $27 per hour
Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
As a Welder, you'll play a crucial role in our production process, responsible for completing projects with precision and efficiency. Your key responsibilities will include performing a variety of welding processes using electric resistance, oxyacetylene, or plasma-arc torches. You'll be tasked with selecting welding electrodes and ensuring proper penetrations and fusion of metals. Additionally, you'll read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using TIG and MIG processes. Your expertise will extend to conducting welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Moreover, you'll have the opportunity to assign work to other Welders and check their work as needed. Operating electric and air tools, as well as plasma machines for cutting, will be part of your daily routine. Lastly, you'll contribute to the assembly of subassemblies and operate forklifts or hoists when required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Five years of experience as a Welder II, or a welding certification with three years of welding experience in the trade.
- Working knowledge of welding materials and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use tape measures accurately.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists is desirable.
- Knowledge of TIG welding with some MIG experience is required. Familiarity with Fluxcore is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a welding test on TIG, MIG, and structural welding.
