Job Summary:

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will assist the General Manager in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the restaurant, delivering an excellent guest experience by maintaining our company’s high culinary, service, and sanitation standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in hiring and training restaurant staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the staff schedules.
  • Conducts, or assists in conducting, performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Assists in the discipline and termination of employees in accordance with restaurant policy.
  • Oversees food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
  • Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
  • Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
  • Assists in maintaining proper food and beverage costs.
  • Conducts daily inspection of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  • Periodically evaluates restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance needs and schedules for service.
  • Attends meetings to help develop appetizing menus and build our regional market share.
  • Maintains sales records and tracks cash receipts.
  • Prepares and submits operations reports and other documentation as requested.
  • Performs opening and closing duties as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate well with customers and staff members.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Previous restaurant supervisory experience required; management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.

• Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting to work at a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Compensation Details:

  • Full time, year-round position
  • Annual salary: $45k to $50k
