What Will You Do?

Job Summary:

To assist the Cafeteria General Manager in assigned work duties relative to all support functions for meal prep, service, inventory, rotation and cleaning by ensuring standards and deadlines are met each day while adhering to all serve safe procedures and Company policies.

Job Functions:

  • Support and assist the General Manager as directed.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
  • Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
  • Check inventory dates regularly each week to rotate (first in/first out), set aside expired inventory for review, discard and alert Cafeteria Manager when supplies have dwindled to less than 75% for replenishment.
  • Consistently perform the daily cleaning duties and enhanced cleaning standards by working from the daily task list form established by and amended as needed by the Cafeteria Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
  • Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
  • Able to perform, when needed, all physical functions within the cafeteria.
  • Able to perform frequent lifting activities of generally up to 20 lbs. Occasional activities involving lifting up to 30 lbs. may be expected and on rare occasions may be required to unload bulk food items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk on a continuous basis in the performance of this job.
  • Able to perform, when needed, additional physical functions and variable support activities within the cafeteria as needed upon request.
  • Consistently exhibit the actions/behaviors which best demonstrate BNE’s Vision and Values; perform other tasks as directed by management; and at all times represent Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. as a professional in every aspect of performance.
