Full Job Description

Wolf Creek Golf Club is looking for individuals wanting to work on the grounds crew to maintain one of the world’s most renowned golf courses. Wolf Creek is known for its appearances on multiple different EA sports video games, many VR and other online golf games. This course is truly a video game designed in real life with over 290ft of elevation changes throughout the property. With its unique landscape it opens and creates a great opportunity to learn from any level of experience working on a golf course. Previous golf course operations are not necessary. Willing to train and develop the right person to move up in this position. This job opportunity has a lot of opportunity to grow into a high level equipment operator, chemical technician, or irrigation technician.

Overview

A grounds crew/maintenance worker, under supervision of the assistant superintendent, participates in all aspects of maintaining the golf course. Including but not limited to, setting the course up for daily play, maintaining tee surfaces, changing hole locations, mowing various parts of the golf course such as tees, greens, fairways, approaches, and rough, operating smaller equipment, and involved in small projects as well.

The equipment operator, under supervision of the assistant superintendent, performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks and other maintenance equipment.

Functions

• Operates various types of golf course equipment, including but not limited to, walk behind mowers, triplex mowers, large area reel and rotary style mowers, blowers, sprayers, and various heavy equipment. Other golf equipment includes weed eaters, back pack blowers, sand machines, hand rakes, shovels and other hand held tools. Must safely drive utility carts on a daily basis.
• May operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor
• Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
• Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor

Employment standards

• Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.
• Must be able to work outside in all conditions in southern NV climate
• Lift up to 50 lbs. (fertilizer and seed bags)
• Bend, lift, walk, and throw during certain jobs such as sod, edging irrigation, cutting cups, etc.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Regular, Reliable, and Strict Attendance.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Complete background authorization for E-Verify
• Wolf Creek Golf Club is a Drug Free Workplace which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random drug testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
• Shift starts between 4:00-6:00 AM (weekends, holidays, and OT will be discussed upon hiring)
