Remodeling Carpenter

Synergy Builders, well established residential design build firm out of West Chicago IL, is looking for a remodeling carpenter with some experience. Projects include kitchen and bath remodeling, home additions, basement finishing, whole house renovations and outdoor living projects. Responsibilities/Duties:

• Read the blueprints
• Cover inspections
• Lead a demo
• Train Apprentice Level 1: o Demo o Site protection o Site Clean up o Loading/ unloading truck with materials
• Following instructions from supervisor as required
• Assisting journeyman and site superintendent as required
• Carpentry o Minor framing o Minor trim installation o Drywall/ simple hole patch in the wall o Assist with layout (framing, cabinets etc)
• Plumbing o Knowledge of plumbing aspects of remodeling o Remove and replace toilet and faucet
• Electrical o Understanding terms, language, and skills associated with job tools and duties o Assist in switches and outlets install o Remove and replace lighting fixture
• Painting o Understanding terms, language, and skills associated with job tools and duties o Prepare job site for painting o Assist with applying painter's tape o Assist with Priming, sanding and painting the walls o Clean up job site after painting

Position Requirements/Skills:

• Good communication skills

• Neat and groomed appearance
• Reliable transportation
• Drivers license in good standing and good driving record
• Knowledge of using all hand tools
• Basic knowledge of power tools
• The ability to perform continuous physically demanding work, including lifting 100 lbs.
• Buildetrend Superintendent Certification
• Tools requirement: hammer, screwdriver, measuring tape, tool belt, skill saw, power drill, nail gun
