Position Summary:
Operate electric or propane powered material handling equipment to load and unload trucks or railcars and move goods and completed orders to a designated area within the warehouse. Responsible for receiving, counting, sorting and organizing inventory. Picks, packs, and ships orders in a safe, efficient, accurate manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  1. Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment to move product and packaged complete orders, exercising care to avoid product damage.
  2. Follow specific instructions given by internal personnel regarding the movement of goods.
  3. Complete daily preventive maintenance check form on all equipment driven.
  4. Verifies the accuracy of product count and product information against shipping and receiving documents and checks product for damage.
  5. Use rf scanner to process outbound orders and inbound receipts.
  6. Reports shortages, damages, and mis-shipments to supervisor.
  7. Follows special instructions regarding the sorting, picking, packing and labeling of product based on the customer requirements for daily orders.
  8. Handle packages up to 50 pounds.
  9. Completes daily task paperwork accurately and entirely.
  10. Comply with safety regulations governing the operation of the equipment.
  11. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  12. Follow facility specific procedures regarding locking and releasing of trailers.
Marginal Functions:
  1. Assist fulfillment team as needed for daily tasks or special projects.
  2. Maintain accurate inventory through regular cycle counts.
  3. Trains new employees on standard operating procedures.
  4. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Job Specifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  2. Must acquire forklift certification upon hire; prefer 1-3 years prior experience operating a forklift in a high volume environment.
  3. Basic reading and math skills.
  4. Must be able to follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately.
  5. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely as required.
  6. Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed due to customer requirements.
