  • Support various aspects of the agency performance process which includes examining results, investigating poor performance and inconsistencies, analyzing data trends, insights and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with others and communicate findings.
  • Recommend both company and/or agency action plans and continually re-evaluate to improve results.
  • Attend meetings to present findings and analysis by providing comprehensive reports using both detailed data and various creative visual aids.
  • Coordinate and attend quarterly meetings for each individual agency action plan including all business partners as necessary such as, Underwriting, Field, Products, Actuary, Special Investigative Unit/Internal Audit, and Management.
  • Provide data in a clear and succinct manner to allow for appropriate decision-making.
  • Provide team communication for all existing plans as well as maintaining the shared files on SharePoint for future reference.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and marketing representatives to develop, support, monitor and evaluate agency action plans to improve results.
  • Establish partnerships with functional leaders/senior management to identify and monitor factors that influence profitability and the personal lines book of business.
  • Develop trusted partnerships with team leaders and team staff based on collaboration and knowledge of business.
  • Proactively identify operational deficiencies and provide recommendations: e.g. address premium leakage, risk analysis and eligibility, including both process and system enhancements.
  • Use metrics and reports to analyze agency and trend line (state) books of business using key performance indicators, client segments, etc. Identify data gaps or data quality issues that exist in reporting and data management.
  • Collaborate with those business teams on how to resolve and communicate data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the Business Services Unit and Information Technology to translate business requirements for programming deliverables through implementation.
  • Actively participate and support technology solution development to advance operational efficiencies, accuracy, data management and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to Underwriters, Underwriting Supervisors, and Underwriting Managers on general analytical underwriting processes.
  • Maintain and produce an agency profitability scorecard.
  • Review agency results and provide recommendations to various areas on process improvements based on new technology or by leveraging available query tools.
  • Recommend agents that need attention by looking at performance of book of business and profitability.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must possess analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to network and relationship build
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Power BI and SharePoint.
  • 3+ years' experience in the insurance industry analyzing business needs, industry trends, and best practice.
  • 1+ years' experience assisting with the implementation of projects
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred.

The expected starting salary range for this role is$68,000 - $98,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
