About the Position 

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items according to recipes and guidelines set by the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. The best candidate has prior experience cooking in a fast-paced, high-expectation kitchen and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation in every dish prepared. 

 

Qualifications and Skills 

As a Line Cook in the renowned Wild Sage Restaurant, known for its culinary excellence within the region, you deliver superbly flavored dishes to devoted locals and guests of the iconic lodge. You work on the line, following the recipes and instructions of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef, while ensuring that every dish is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. You enjoy cooking with local and special ingredients as well as showcasing advanced cooking abilities in the scratch kitchen. Collaboration and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced kitchen to ensure a positive experience for the kitchen and the guests. 

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Following recipes and guidelines set by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef to prepare exquisite food items with precision 
  • Ensuring that each dish meets high standards of quality and presentation, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to excellence 
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area to uphold hygiene and safety standards 
  • Collaborating effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of dishes 
  • Adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure the health and well-being of guests and staff 
  • Assisting with inventory management and stock rotation to optimize kitchen operations 
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with both kitchen and front-of-house staff to facilitate efficient teamwork 
  • Adapting quickly to changing needs and priorities during service to ensure guest satisfaction 
  • Offering valuable input and ideas for menu development to enhance the dining experience 


Requirements 

  • Previous experience working in a high-end dining establishment or similar fast-paced kitchen environment 
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment operation 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members to achieve common goals 
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as required in a kitchen environment 
  • A passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests
